Preparing for the holiday season

As snow starts to fall and Christmas decorations fill up homes and city streets, there’s a sense of excitement in the air. The holiday season offers a much-needed opportunity to pause, reflect, and refresh. And for the team at Amplify Consulting Inc., we truly embrace this time to recharge and prepare for the exciting year ahead. Our team members find balance in different ways, but one thing remains consistent: the joy of celebrating alongside those who matter the most!

For Amplify’s Project Manager, Kimberlee, the holidays are a time to disconnect from work and reconnect with loved ones.

“This Christmas, I’m looking forward to taking a mini break from my computer and soaking up quality time with family and friends. But as a creature of habit, it seems I will be swapping one screen for another when continuing one of our favourite traditions - picking movies to watch together on Christmas Day,” she shared.

After opening presents, Kimberlee and her family enjoy a relaxed brunch, a mimosa or two, and dive into their movie marathon while prepping a big dinner. This holiday season, she is also hoping to balance screen time with more time outside, appreciating the crisp winter air and the calm of the season. “I plan to sleep in, enjoy a slower pace, and reflect on everything I’m grateful for as 2024 wraps up.”

As for Amy, Amplify’s Administrative Assistant, Christmas holidays means as much skiing as conditions allow and family dinners as often as possible. However, for her, the season’s highlight is always the tradition that began when her children were toddlers, which she and her husband brought from Quebec - sharing chocolate fondue at midnight on December 31.

“On the jour de l’An, my family gathers by candlelight to spear bananas, strawberries and Madeleine, dunking them into a red enamel pot of melted Toblerone and milk. Be forewarned; if your treat drops into the fondue, you must kiss the person on your left, a rule that titillates to this day. Afterward, we take our annual family photo and are ready for the New Year,” she said.

For Valeria, one of our Communications Coordinators, the flexibility to work from home has been incredibly helpful this holiday season, as she prepares to visit her family and friends in El Salvador.

“Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year and I am grateful to get the opportunity to spend it surrounded by the most important people in my life. I will take this time to reflect on my year and take a break from my computer - at least for a few days! I am looking forward to pressing pause, relaxing by the beach, and seeing what creative ideas come out of that time so we can continue amplifying our clients’ impact in newer and better ways in 2025,” she shared.

As Amplify’s newest team member and a Communications Coordinator, Foram is looking forward to catching up with the rest of the team online to share some holiday cheer. This holiday season, she will also be spending quality time with friends and pausing to reflect on this year.

“I have plans to go snow tubing in Whistler with friends—it’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a while! I’m also planning to carve out some quiet time to reflect on what has been a truly wonderful year. It’s the perfect chance to pause, soak it all in, and start thinking mindfully about goals and dreams for 2025,” she said.

Our CEO, Aleece, will be looking forward to kicking back and relaxing with her family, taking the time to appreciate a slower pace, at least for a day or two.

“Our family has its wonderful traditions we’ve enjoyed since our boys were little guys, including a trip to get Santa photos at the mall with Tyler Meade Photography. Now at 6’ 5” (Mac – 21) and 6’ 9” (Cal – 18) Santa is usually pretty keen to not have his lap flattened and joyfully sits on their knees. I find it a season of magic and delight, marked with coffee, chocolate, and Wii marathons,” she shared.

As we wrap up 2024, we are ready to bring our best selves into the new year, full of perspective, energy, and creativity. We hope that everyone takes the time to recharge, enjoy the holiday season, and step back to appreciate the abundance of special little moments in life.

Happy holidays from our team to yours!
